ADVENTURE MINISTRIES AT A GLANCE

Adventure Ministries exists to set a new standard in the world of short-term missions. Our purpose is to facilitate the spiritual growth of our team members and the physical growth of the world wide church.

Home: Who We Are

What We Believe

About Jesus

-We believe Jesus is both fully God and fully Man, that He was born of a virgin, performed many miracles, died on a cross for all of mankind’s sins, and rose again on the third day, just as it was prophesied would happen.

-We believe that Jesus is God’s one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life, as laid out for us in John 3:16.

-We believe Jesus when He says in John 14:6,“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

-We believe Jesus is part of the triune God, the creator of all the universe.

About the Bible

-We believe “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)

-We believe that since all scripture is God breathed, then there can be nothing that is untrue in it. Where the Bible speaks on an issue, the Bible is correct.

The Great Commission

-Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

-We believe this applies to us today. That this is not a mere suggestion. That as followers of Christ we must all follow the Great Commission. Part of being a follower of Christ means we are all called to the mission field. Whether that be next door or around the world shouldn’t matter to us. We are told to go and make disciples.

Home: What We Believe

In General

Our goal is to first glorify God. We believe God has led us to serve Him through short-term missions. Specifically, we want to improve how short-term missions are carried out, so that they edify the hosting churches ongoing efforts while simultaneously deepening the Christian walks of everyone involved.

In short: We seek positive long term impacts through short term missions.

For Our Ministry Partners

Our ministry partners are also sometimes known as the hosting church community. What we do is try to make sure they receive all the blessings and benefits that hosting a short-term mission trip can bring while eliminating the burdens that historically can come along with them. Many hosting organizations and churches do not have the staffing and resources to handle short-term mission teams well, so we come alongside them and help with every aspect of hosting the teams with things like:

-Logistics

-Trip planning

-Facilitation

These are just a few of the things we help with.

For Teams and Sending Churches

Many churches do not have the resources to staff a Missions pastor. Even those that do might not have a Missions department dedicated to running short-term missions at a professional level in a way that doesn’t inadvertently cause harm. Many times, team members and those that send them wouldn’t even know of the potential danger in harming the hosting ministries if a team is not facilitated and lead well. Short-term missions have had a long and sometimes ugly history. If the nuances aren’t looked at thoroughly, they can have very negative outcomes for their efforts on the hosting ministry.

In light of these things, the expertise and skills needed to facilitate and lead a team well can take years to acquire. Navigating all of the issues surrounding any given short-term mission trip is not something that can be fully understood overnight and should not be expected of people who are not dedicated to doing this type of work. This is why Adventure Ministries has an intensive training program for anyone hoping to join staff. We want to make sure all our staff members set a professional standard in leading and facilitating short-term mission teams.

We at Adventure Ministries strive to make sure the long-term discipleship and outreach efforts of hosting foreign ministries are aided and not hindered by short-term mission teams while also treating said mission teams as our own personal mission field. We want each team member to grow deeper in their walks with Christ and to take what they have learned on the trip home with them and continue to serve God in their home communities.
